View migration information in Onvio

When you migrate data from other applications into Onvio, you can view information such as when the migration process was started, who started the migration, the migration status, and more.

To view migration information, choose Setup > Migrations.

  • The grid includes data for only those migrations that occurred within the last 30 days.
  • You can click the Show/Hide Columns Show/Hide columns button button to add or remove columns in the Migrations grid.
  • You can drag columns to the area above the grid to create column groups. Click the Show/HIde column grouping button button to show or hide this area. you can sort all columns except the Description column.
  • The Status column shows the status of each migration — Completed, Conflicts Found, or Processing. Click a link in that column to see details about the migration.
    • Click a Completed link to open a dialog that displays the total number of records that were successfully migrated, the source application, and the date the records were migrated. The grid displays information on the individual records. Like in other grids in Onvio, you can group the records in the grid, and you can choose which columns to show or hide.
    • Click a Conflicts Found link to open a dialog that displays a summary of conflicts that need to be resolved. In that dialog, each row represents a record from the source application that could not automatically be migrated. Click a record in the Partial Matches column for additional details on the conflicts for that record.

In the dialog that opens, the grid displays a list of records from the source application that were matched to a record in Onvio. Click a match to see a detailed comparison of the specific fields for each application, with any differences between the two highlighted. You can customize this display.

      • Mark the Show conflicted only checkbox to show only the highlighted fields.
      • Click the Vertical display button to show the data for one application on top of the data for the other application.
      • Click the Horizontal display button to show the data for the applications side by side.

You must resolve all conflicts to complete the migration. If any conflicts remain, then those records will not migrate to Onvio, and the relationships will not be created or updated. Use the buttons at the bottom to resolve the conflicts.

      • Click the Match button to match the records. When the records are migrated, the application uses the Onvio data, except in the following situations.
        • If data exists in Onvio but not in the source application, the Onvio data is used so that the record is not blank.
        • If relationships exist in Onvio but not in the source application, the Onvio record is retained.
      • Click the Create new button to create a new record in Onvio, using the data from the source application.
      • Click the Ignore button to skip this record during the migration. You can migrate this record at a later time, but in the meantime, this could affect related entities. (For example, if you migrate a company that has a director, but the director is ignored during the migration, the migrated company will not include a director.)

The availability of some or all of these features depends on the applications your firm has licensed and the permissions your firm’s administrator has enabled for you.
